GUESTHOUSE IN KARKONOSZE

The designed guesthouse is a minimalist spatial composition that seamlessly integrates with the natural topography of the mountainous terrain. The rigorous, cohesive form of the volumes and their pitched roofs serve as a direct reference to the surrounding peaks.

The cabins are arranged along a gentle arc and subtly rotated relative to one another, opening the interiors to two exposures: north and south. Combined with the designed landscaping and natural steps by the terraces, this layout creates an intimate space that guarantees guests complete privacy.

At the heart of the guesthouse lies a multi-volume main building, connected to the cabins via a projecting horizontal walkway. The restaurant zone, glazed on two sides, blurs the boundary between the architecture and the landscape, opening up expansive views of the natural surroundings.

The private zones of the guesthouse are defined by deep overhangs, which create sheltered terraces directly adjoining the living areas of the cabins. These spaces flow seamlessly into stepped-down, fully open lounge decks—complete with space for a hammock—that are screened from one another by thoughtfully arranged landscaping.

Adjacent to the main building is a natural swimming pond, complete with a dedicated sauna area and an intimate meditation space. Rounding out the amenities is a woodland relaxation zone located in the northwestern part of the site, featuring a fire pit and canopy daybeds.

The entrance zone and parking areas are integrated into the varied topography of the site’s southeastern corner, ensuring convenient access to the main entrance. To guarantee guests complete tranquility, the cabins are separated from the parking by a sunken communal gathering space.
